Last Teen Year

In less than a week now, I shall bid goodbye to the passage of 'adulthood' and welcome the arrival of my last 'teen' year. As I turn 19 I realize what to do with my life or how I should live it (coz fun, fun, fun is not the best solution to this question). However, in this post, I do not to intend to blog my future plans or rant about how my life would go on.

Whenever the word 'birthday' comes to my mind, I would always think of presents, which come in the form of cash and in kind. lol. Anyway, if I do get to invite you to my birthday party, make sure you read this list throughly!

THE 2011 BIRTHDAY WISHLIST

1. fujifilm instax mini 25
instax was not really my first love. i would really really want to get an SLR but since SLRs are sort of trendy nowadays, i would prefer to go vintage with instax. the film may cost a fortune but nothing beats vintage!

2. glaceau vitamin water
i first heard of this product from my friend, Char. i first had a taste of it in Sogo (HK). i remember i was really really thirsty at the time (imagine walking the streets of Kimberley to Sogo without stop!) and my sister and i wanted something beyond water. however, this water is really a hard find in local markets. luckily S&R sells them!

3. BOOKS
here are some of my 'i-would-want-to-buy-these-books' list. well, these are the most wanted items from that list. i just have to earn some money so that my mom wouldn't nag me if i buy a book again.

4. wardrobe makeover
i really want to do some wardrobe makeover! but since my finances wouldn't allow it, i would just have to wait just a little longer! (this would call for new tops, bottoms, shoes and bags!)

5. driving
i finally got my student's license last month and i would be the happiest person ever if my dad would lend me his car (and i am so going to die if i damage it) , so that i could drive around the metro.

6. fooooood
a lot of Os for emphasis! i am craving for S&R pizza (i can't get to buy one because i am not a member and only my aunt has membership) . i am determined to become a member next week! all for pizza! also some taco bell, bonchon and pepper lunch. also i long to go to mercato and maginhawa st! srsly, who's losing weight?

7. tickets to 2ne1's concert
do i need to explain? i need to get a doze my kpop every now and then.

8 . travel
i don't know if i could reach Seoul this year (IT IS A MUST) but if the odds aren't in my favor, I'd love to go the HK, BKK and SG.

anything more? that's all i could think for now. more importantly, i wish to have good health, good grades and long life! well, 6 more days to go and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! :)

Drama Queen

Yes, that's what my HS "hallyu" (as what I would call them) pals would call me. Not because I am a diva at school but because they say they are amazed by how many dramas I have seen.

Hmmmm....short history, my Asian drama addiction begun when Meteor Garden aired...was that year 2000? I can't really remember well. Anyway, the year Meteor Garden 1 aired was the era of prepaid internet, so as you know, you really have to rely on those free hours of surfing...and that was when I learned how to pull an all-nighter. Thank you F4! lol. After Meteor Garden 1 and 2, I was on a major drama hiatus until Goong came. I managed to marathon the drama in 3-4 days and I just can't get enough! Luckily, this was the time when we had our DSL internet and the rest was history.

As I was watching Autumn's Concerto's last episode a while ago, I really had a the urge to blog  about the drama. But since I vowed that I would only blog about Secret Garden (LOL), I decided to record all the dramas that I have watched from year 2000-2011(omggg 11 years? ) to remind myself that i have been wasting my life  an oh-so-dramatic person for a almost a decade :)

But the truth is, Asian dramas are one of my guilty pleasures and this lead the way on my inclination on KPOP and TWPOP. However kpop and twpop has so much real-life drama that sometime I cannot take and so I'd rather settle on TV dramas and movies whose semi-real plot lines could make one laugh, cry, angry and most of all, fall in love (with the leading character.....OOOPS!)

SLEEP

sometimes all you need in this lifetime is to sleep.
sleep to clear your mind.
sleep to make up for the lost energy.
sleep to forget about your bad day.
sleep to feel at ease.

i don't know if it was just me, that everything is sooooooooooooooo unbelievably not falling into place and my mind is very chaotic right now because of loads and loads of work to do. -_-

i need sleep. but not now.but soon, real soon.

SUPER...........Super Show 3, Live in Manila

Feb. 26, 2011 --- the most unpredictable day  of my life. honestly, i really didn't plan to watch. but then on the last minute, i gathered all my guts, texted my friends and asked them to join me as I (we) hunt for almost free - discounted tickets.

the one who agreed to accompany me cancelled the last minute which was so sad because i have really really planned everything ( i even brought extra clothes to school!) then i texted my concert/movie/forever chaperon (lol), but sadly he couldn't make it due to thesis defense. then, my last string of hope was from this friend that would really want to experience a suju concert. THANK HEAVENS, she agreed and we'll take it from here. :)

6PM we have arrived in Araneta, no tickets. Just the mere desire that we would want to watch. So we searched for these people who you could deal with when it comes to ticket pricing. Unfortunately, Araneta's security these days are so strrrrrriiiiiiict! So we had 2 choices left: Go home or Buy Gen Ad or Upper B.

To cut the long story short, I just splurge this huge amount for a total concert experience. 2k was worth it. :)

super junior, super daebak!! (this is so redundant, but iduncurrrrr)
see you then on SS4, i will be seated on VVIP, get ready for me, Choi Siwon (or should that be the other way around?

시크릿 가든 ♥

i am not a frequent blogger but i'm taking my time here to share something you really shouldn't miss! (feeling like your life is on the line, eh?)

Since 2004, I have an avid fan of Korean drama. It all started with Princess Hours (YEH-JJH). Then the rest was history. I never imagined that 8 years later, I will be encountering this drama that would capture the wholeness of my being. For 3 months now, I am breathing the Se-Ga (a korean short-cut) Syndrome.

Secret Garden is a romance fantasy drama brought by the winning combination of Kim Eun Sook and Shin Woo Chul of the Lovers series, On Air and City Hall. The drama tells the story of Kim Joo Won, a seemingly perfect man yet with certain arrogance and childishness in him, and Gil Ra Im, a stuntwoman whose beauty and body are the object of envy of top actresses. One day they went deep into the mountains and entered a strange house. A strange grandmother offered them chocolate to eat. The next day they found themselves changing bodies.

With Ha Ji Won (Memories of Bali) and Hyun Bin (My Name is Kim Sam Soon) taking the leads, it is no wonder that this would be a hit! (in korean: 대박!). Basically the story itself is fantasy based but I never knew that an episode could incorporate drama, romance, comedy and fantasy... in short, all in one. (You want to fall in love (with HB?), watch SG, you want to cry? Watch SG, you want to see the Little Mermaid as Alice in Wonderland? Watch SG!) I know this will be so biased but who cares? As the almighty 김 주원 would say, Secret Garden is like Kim Tae Hee to me, I'm a fan!

Reasons Why I Watched This Drama:
Posted Image
-Ha Ji Won is one of my favorite actresses in the Korean entertainment industry.
-Yoon Sang Hyun is here! I loved him in Take Care of Agasshi!
-I wanted to watch Hyun Bin's performance from DAY 1 - END (since I failed in MNIKSS)
-Kim Sa Rang is Miss Korea- Universe 2000. I love Miss Korea's!
-Kim Eun Sook wrote Lover's in Paris, which I failed to watch from DAY 1- END.
-The story itself. It got me when it said, romantic-fantasy (I didn't know I needed some tissue later on)
-It has been so long since I've watched an IDOL-less drama! (Jay Park was initially casted but for some reasons, it didn't pursue)

Why it deserves to be known (or appropriately, why is the my addiction up to the infinity level):

7-9.jpg
-Not your ordinary 2nd generation chaebol who fell in love with a poor girl story
-In an episode, you will feel different emotions.  At one point you're crying, the next thing you are laughing, and so on!
-The soul-switch plot is definitely 대박 and new to Korean TV.
-It has an element which brings happiness every time you watch it.
-Ha Ji Won and Hyun Bin have the BEST! Chemistry ever!

What not to forget (things that would stay in your mind forever)
- Bring on the 반짝 반짝(shiny) tracksuits!
Posted Image
-The epic lines!
이것 최선입니까? 확실해? (is the best? are you sure?)
이봐...이봐 (hey, hey)
할유 스타  오스카! (Hallyu Star Oska!)
야! (YA!!)
문자왔숑~~ (Munjawassyong!)
Gil Ra Im, at what age did you become so pretty?
No matter how I think of it, you're really not my style!
This tracksuit was handmade in Italy!
I make a lot of money!
Does love buy rice?
I'll be the Little Mermaid!
This is the decision of the leader of a society.
the konglish lines!
and the most epic, 80 word tongue twister from Kim Juwon --> 김수한무 거북이와 두루미 삼천갑자 동방삭 치치카포 사리사리센타 워리워리 새프리카 무두셀라 구름이 허리케인 담벼락 서생원에 고양이 바둑이는 돌돌이.

-The Gil Ra Im and Kim Ju Won ♥moments:
5-6.jpg
11-3.jpg

12-2.jpg

- The Ssun-Oska-Seul Love Triangle!
-Ha Ji Won and Hyun Bin's crying scenes are so real, you would cry too!

-This drama has the best OST! (plus they got Hyun Bin sing a song! PURRRFECCT!)
-Excluding the soul switch factor, it has a touch of reality.

-The ending was so daebak, I don't know what to say, not a trivial ending but it really makes you think!
----and so much more! i shall enumerate if i remember! :)

"Love perhaps is similar to taking care of a garden. Hoping that in your garden, a beautiful love will bloom. A cool breeze will blow, in the presence of warm sunlight and occasionally a magical shower."

p.s this post is dedicated to my gardener friends! you know who you are! i cannot put more pictures, i'm so sleepy! :)

January 12, 2011

say yes to positivism

will be short but concise. promise.

-yesterday, i had one of the most peaceful dinners ever with my 2 other siblings. we were laughing and stuff. ideal dinner for the three of us.

-currently, doing my thesis proposal. saying hello again to the sleepless nights and "i-don't-know-f-i-can-do-this-anymore" moments. but YES, I CAN DO IT!

-secret garden is ending this weekend. mind you, this is one of the best dramas korea has ever produced! (will do a separate blog because i love them......SO MUCH).

-exams are approaching and so that means, an internet-less week for me. OH WELL, NOT.

that's all.
see you next blog! :)

defining "good" in terms of words would never really describe what 2010 is.
